Darby Pop Publishing has had numerous up-and-coming writers and artists collaborating with us over the years. Each month, we’ll be highlighting the most recent work by one of these industry professionals who passed through our doors on the way to making their sequential storytelling dreams come true.

Darby Pop Publishing’s Women of Darby Pop #1 anthology helped jumpstart the careers of numerous previously-unsung writers and artists. One of those scribes, Brett Harris, continues to climb the comic industry’s ladder, kicking-off a new series — The Outer Worlds — in conjunction with Conquest Art Designs’ Conquest Comics digital imprint.

Concerning a group of bounty hunters chasing down fugitives, The Outer Worlds follows Harris’ Stingray-focused short story in Women of Darby Pop as well as his award-winning work in Adventures in Pulp Presents. “I’m excited to be one of the first creators for a new line of comics,”,Harris explains. “It’s my first extended story line and I have worked hard to mix sci-fi, action, and adventure with a strong arc and interesting characters”.

You can check out the preview issue of The Outer Worlds on Conquest Comics’ Comixology page. When it comes to working with Darby Pop, Harris remembers his time with us as “a wonderful experience. And I hope I can one day again play in your rich sandbox.” We hope so, too, Brett. Though, we’ll all be wearing masks, of course.
