Mark Weller
Writer: Women of Darby Pop
When Mark was a kid growing up in Canada, his Mom brought home his first comic from the grocery store – Uncle Scrooge #118. It was a reprint of a great Carl Barks story, and instantly he was hooked.
Mark married his wife Janet (also a genre nerd) while attending the University of British Columbia in 1990; the two of them moved to California in 2000.
After college, Mark he worked in IT for 25 years, before doing a complete switch to writing in 2012.
When not battling writer’s block at his laptop he spends a good deal of time raising his two girls Charlotte, 6 and Celine 2.
Mark was pleasantly surprised to have his submission to the Women of Darby Pop contest and is massively grateful for the opportunity to work with Darby Pop as a writer.
One interesting note – both Mark and the artist he was paired with Tony Donley grew up in British Columbia, Canada in different cities. Small world.
