Adrian Reynolds

Writer: Women of Darby Pop

Soon realizing that long term employment at an ad agency was not going to be satisfying, Adrian was lucky to be doing that work when the London Cartoon Centre was running. He attended scriptwriting classes, and edited a well-reviewed anthology featuring the work of many of the Centre’s artists and writers. His own scripts at that point attracted the attention of Marvel UK, but nothing came of that interest. Moving to Nottingham, Adrian’s first play Probably A Robbery became the basis of his first film treatment, winning a Times competition and meeting Tim Bevan, producer of hits including Four Weddings & A Funeral. Since then, Adrian has scripted drama for the BBC, developed projects with production companies, and scripted short films – most notably the multiple award-winner White Lily, which has close to a million YouTube views, and can be seen on Amazon Prime too. On the comics front, Adrian played a key editorial role in Dawn of the Unread, an online anthology that won the Guardian Award for Educational Excellence in 2015. A print edition of the online comic Dadtown is one of Adrian’s forthcoming projects. Online, check out adrianinspires.com
